This winter, GROW collected lot of smiles, life lessons, friends, fun events and got to know cultures like Brazil, Mexico, Pakistan, Indonesia, Algeria etc. thanks to the 32 international trainers who were the teenagers’ “guides” in the adventure of self-discovery. We invited them to share their impressions about the project, about Romania and the whole experience.

“I´m Kim, 23 years old, an outgoing, friendly and talkative guy. My passions are to get to know new people, places and being able to have a positive impact on people’s lives.

I´m from Brazil, that you might know as the country of samba, carnival and football! But those aren´t the things I appreciate the most. My favorites are the people’s friendliness, our landscapes and the food – it doesn´t matter what kind of dish you prefer, you´ll find one suitable to your tastes!

I´ve decided to be a GROW trainer because of two reasons. Firstly, I see the role of trainer as able to impact people lives in some way, showing the world from a different perspective and changing their lives, even if it´s just by a tiny bit. Secondly, this project is related with what I want to do in my future.

The most beautiful moments I had on this project were when by the end of the first session a student came to hug me and told me that he will cry a lot when I go back to Brazil. The second one was when one student asked if he could have a bro greeting with me.

I learned a lot thanks to this project! Thinking about skills, my presentations skills are way better and my English is improving in an astonishing way. Regarding the things that have changed inside me, I can mention my self awareness. Everyday I need to know more about myself so I can deliver the best sessions ever to my students.

Romania is the most amazing country I´ve ever been in. I can´t describe in words how is to be here. You must come here and see for yourself, it will be an unique experience.”
