In every city where GROW takes place, we have a local team that implements the project, led by a coordinator (OCP). We are preparing a new GROW edition, so let’s meet the local coordinators! We’ve asked them about their high school years, their personality and how they would change the educational system. Today we present you Catalin.
Hey, guys! Let me tell you a little about myself. My name is Cătălin, I’m 20 years old and I come from Sibiu. I study Economics, second year in Cluj-Napoca. Also I am a volunteer here in AIESEC Cluj-Napoca. I tend to talk a lot about nothing and everything and even more about myself. Therefore, in really short time you can find out a lot about me.
My best experience in high-school was participating in a program named MoneySense where for the first time I left my comfort zone and found out there are other people out there which share the same interests like me. I made a lot of friends and learned a lot about financial education but also about myself. And from there I started doing volunteering and what brought me here.
I can’t really think of just one symbol for GROW, because this project changes a lot from edition to edition. Believe me! I was 2 times participant, 2 times in the organizing committee and now coordinator. And every time was different! Trainees, participants, places, and how the trainings where delivered.
If I could change education in Romania, I would try an approach in which the participation would be more active. Make them do more research and present what they learned in front of their colleagues.
